Being on server 2 for awhile there's a very surprising lack of map variety and the same 2-4 maps are basically sorted through with different map rotated through for a bit of spice before rotating back into the same map group which typically has been Rougeport, Backfort, Slider shores (Which has a updated version. Version 4), and Museum making up a sort of "4 horsemann" of maps. Hopefully these maps will break up things up and add some much needed flavoring to the map pool. https://gamebanana.com/mods/73561 Goldenrod city (Heart gold/Soul Silver remake) by ColdEndeavour A classic we know and love (Or hate) recreated in the remake version of Gen 2. Now updated with pretty coat of paint. Better spawns so it's easier to get out of if you get pushed to them. Still suffers from the rather infamous "Sniperrod" that classic version has, but Snipers no longer have access to 2 really powerful spots(On top of the Radio tower and On top of the pokemon mart) and they're much more manageable to deal with unlike the classic version. Some areas been expanded on from the classic version making them more interesting to be in and new buildings added in to fight for control over or explore EDIT: This map has since been added in https://gamebanana.com/mods/73585 Rustboro city by IAmKnotMax Another Pokemon city made into a lovely TF2 map. The map is pretty spacious allowing for players to spread out and stay out of the way of any fights that will break out . Comes with the city itself, 3 routes, Rusturf tunnel, Meteor falls, and Petalburg woods. The one that started it all. While there is most updated version of this that can be used if someone delves into the workshop long enough, but since we have Mariokart 2 and Mariokart 3. Based off the similar theme map from Unreal Tournament 2004, but unlike the TF2 version we see. It was an assault style mode. 2 carriers racing across the desert while both teams try to stop the other's carrier. There's a few maps that should be removed which I'll list here Manor of pain Fun A map more themed around Halloween than anything else. While neat. The spawns being so close together makes this map a big old clusterfuck of fights so often time. You're lucky to even get into the manor itself while being blasted down by anything that has a gun. Makes for a fun 15 minute detour to remind people "Oh this map is a thing" before being RTV out into the "4 horsemann" maps EDIT: as of recently this map was removed from the nomination pool Classic Goldenrod If the remake version of Goldenrod gets added in. Then this map should be removed. The very infamous "Sniperrod city" The map that you wish sniper was nerfed to the ground or out right banned from any TF2 server that hosts it. While a classic for many servers that run it. It has a lot of glaring problems such as how easy it is for sniper to dominate the map. Easy access towards 2 very powerful sniper spots that's very hard to deal with if the sniper has some sort of Engie support with him or even counter snipe due to high ground and the fact you can snipe at players freshly respawning before they even have a chance to react to your presence Backfort Where do I start with this map. This map is the biggest tryhard/killer magnet of all the map in the current rotation instantly. The map really doesn't work within the context of the server being a "Chill out and hang out server" since the only thing you can really do is fight, use /friendly and be basically passive until we eventually RTV out to a new map. The spawns are super easy to camp meaning it's pretty hard to get out of spawn if you get pushed back to it. Snipes can easily snipe you from spawn with your only real counter response to them is to counter snipe them or some how shove 125+ damage at them during the very brief period of time they open the spawn door and do a nice 150 damage headshot to everyone they see or safely fully charge for a 450 headshot. While other maps have similar problems like Rougeport and Classic goldenrod, but most people are usually chill on those maps. Unlike backfort EDIT: Figure I suggest a few other things Add a timer and within the last 5 minutes of it. Start a vote on what would be the next map to swap to Sometimes maps can over stay their welcome for a long while. Adding a timer that let say last 120-150 minutes would give a map plenty of time be active, but not too long that map will stick around for too long RTV doesn't become available until 10-15 minutes after a map swap Just so when a map swaps to a new map. People can't just RTV to a new map almost instantly which has happened a few times in the past
