Please refrain from discussing gambling here.
  2. Prices fluctuate based on supply and demand. It's possible that they'll return to 1.11/1.22 eventually but it's entirely dependent on the market.
  3. We utilise the SteamRep API to automatically ban any user who is tagged as a scammer on SteamRep. Claiming that scammers are "allowed to use the scrap.tf auction system" is quite a loaded statement. It misses the unfortunate reality of the situation that SteamRep will always be behind the curve, because it is very easy for scammers to create a new account, funnel their items, and evade their bans in the time it takes for SteamRep to catch up to them. We (the staff) simply do not have the time to be proactive in hunting down scammer's alt accounts, however, we will investigate any account brought to our attention -- which is why, if you are concerned about the legitimacy of an auction, you should use the "Report Auction" functionality and describe in detail what those concerns are. Alt accounts using auctions is not our intention, it is a symptom of the difficulty of preventing fraud.
  4. Can you please check here https://scrap.tf/inventory to confirm if the items you deposited exist and are available for withdrawal.
  5. The bots are usually fully restocked within half a day.
  6. According to our logs, you have never traded any unusual to the site. In addition, your backpack history shows that you've never owned an unusual -- certainly not the one you're claiming to have sold to us.

  10. That's the reason keys are such a stable currency, because their value is more or less fixed in terms of actual money. Metal is free and is introduced into the system at a much higher rate than it leaves the system. I'm not sure why anyone is surprised that its value relative to the key keeps decreasing.
  11. We're generally behind the curve (for good reason), the price update just brings it more in line with actual market value and not the value listed on backpack.tf
  12. It's no big conspiracy -- keys are bought from the site as quickly as they are sold. There's no real solution to this, apart from adjusting the price we sell for to the point where keys aren't almost instantly bought, and we don't want to do that for obvious reasons. Looking at the data we have, there doesn't appear to be any indication that some bot is eating them up.
  13. That's not how copyright law works. You couldn't take Facebook's design, change the font, colour scheme and a logo here or there and publish it as your own creation -- Facebook's lawyers would have a field day. This also does not matter. If someone recreated Facebook's design using entirely their own code it would still be copyright infringement. My point is that to most regular people the site is just going to look like a fly-by-night operation if it bears this striking resemblance to Scrap.TF It's not about competition, or how the service works, or any of that. The issue isn't that the site exists, it's that the site is using an already established design belonging to one of its competitors.
  14. Just as a side note, designs are copyrighted -- changing/improving them and using it is irrelevant as it still constitutes copyright infringement. You might be thinking of "fair use", which almost certainly wouldn't apply in this case as there's a commercial aspect involved.
  15. Well we appreciate that you all felt the need to come here to defend the site, but the fact of the matter is that it bears a striking resemblance to Scrap.TF -- and that is obvious to anyone who is familiar with Scrap.TF's design. I would personally suggest giving the design a revamp to give it an air of legitimacy, else I believe it'll just be seen as another "Scrap.TF clone".
  16. There's a secret developer that hasn't been involved with Scrap.TF in years but is kept on for legacy reasons. love you geel
  17. While I believe Lukiday is very trustworthy, I'd like to remind everyone to be extra vigilant when using scripts like these, as they allow for potential arbitrary code execution on the chat.scrap.tf domain.
  18. It's not that it's expensive, it's just that over the last year or so refined has become relatively worthless.
  19. The trade you've linked is from 2 years ago, and the price has changed vastly since then. If you search for recent trades of ToD tickets on TF2Outpost you'll find that the average selling price of ToD tickets is around 7.33 refined, which is reflected in the price listing on backpack.tf. The extra 2 scrap you pay for the tickets here is just a premium for an automated service.
