  1. In case you didn't know, Valve is currently working on a major summer update for Team Fortress 2. The update will definitely include a competitive mode, as Jill, a member of the TF2 development team announced the final Stress Test, which ended a few days ago. So it looks like Competitive is almost ready for release. We can anticipate 4 new taunts as well, as the TF2 taunt playlist was updated with 4 new taunts. We can also expect MAJOR balance changes as well, in order to accommodate for the new matchmaking mode. It's also likely that we'll see new skins, and new contracts. For a full review of everything we know about this "neato" update, here's a great video from VNN:

  3. I agree. I'm not accepting or the buff, I attempted to explain it. I think it needs to be nerfed as well. And it will be. Even Uncle Dane agrees:
  4. This is probably one of the most talked about changes to a weapon in TF2. It seems like a dumb idea to most people, but here's what I think. Competitive matchmaking is the next step of evolution for TF2. There are multiple game files that have been added since the last update, and they all point to competitive. A competitive mode would make Team Fortress a viable alternative for those who aren't interested in CS:GO, or gave it up. I think that Valve has a list in their backend of all weapons and how many people use them. From Valve's point of view, weapons that get used the most get nerfed (most likely because they're broken, and people overuse/abuse them). For example, the Jag was a very popular wrench, so Valve nerfed it, thinking it was too strong against other classes. I was pretty upset about the nerf against the Jag, but I could definitely see why Valve made the changes they did. The same goes for several of the other changes. Now, on to the Phlogistinator. The Phlog was a challenge. What should be done for this weapon? Nerf it? From Valve's view, I don't think they could find a way to balance it so it's equivalent to all other flamethrowers and not annoying to play against. Make a slower walk speed? Just equip the Powerjack, and it's eliminated. Increase the damage penalty? That only slows the inevitable "Mmph" mode. And with comp coming, how could they adjust this weapon? From their backend, they saw it wasn't as used as the Degreaser (which, by the way, got nerfed), so it has to be made stronger. Or else, they must've thought, no one would use it in comp mode. And that would present a balance challenge. I think Valve wants every weapon to have around the same amount of players using it. Another thought that I had was maybe this is just a test run for the Phlog. I think they want to examine how players use it in pubs and in sixes, highlander, etc. Then, maybe they'll adjust it in a future update, according to the data they've collected. Do you guys agree with my theory? Let me know it a reply below!

Totally agree! Miami Nights 1984 is one of my favorite artists

  5. Wouldn't that be theft? If you didn't send a gift, there's nothing to take. And besides, the user who didn't send a gift would need to confirm a trade, it can't automatically be taken away.
  6. This is the wrong place to post. If you are experiencing an issue, post here and not on the forums: https://github.com/Jessecar96/SteamDesktopAuthenticator/issues
  7. First, this post is in the wrong section. It should be under the Secret Santa/Holiday Event megathread. Please be more careful before posting.\ Second, it may take a little time before items start appearing. It does that in order to confirm the items. Just wait a little longer and they'll appear.

  9. Yeah, I totally agree. Maybe it could be named "Orange you glad you're dead?"
  10. So I got a free Mann Co. Orange paint can, and I decided to paint my Graybanns. I also recieved a name and description tag. What should I name my cosmetic?
  11. It may not be a problem with Scrap.TF. Have you had the authenticator enabled for a week? P.S. Posting a topic titled "HEY ADMINS LISTEN!!!" and using phrases like "please fix your s***" isn't appropriate. I recommend in the future that you use more appropriate language.
  12. I hate what they did to the Pholgistinator. There was no need for a buff. That weapon was pretty broken already, and now it's ridiculous. It's not a skill weapon at all. It rewards you with Uber and Crits for just holding left click. STAR_ (TF2 YouTuber) had an interesting theory that I'd like to share with you guys. His theory is that Valve doesn't play the game anymore. That they just add whatever they think might be cool. It makes perfect sense. If you're a dev for TF2, which is an 8 year old game, wouldn't you just stop playing it after a while out of pure boredom?
  13. Actually, it is possible. Jessecar created a Steam Desktop Authenticator here: https://github.com/Jessecar96/SteamDesktopAuthenticator You can use Google Voice to act as a mobile phone.
  14. If the desktop authenticator is having problems, report an issue here so it can be diagnosed: https://github.com/Jessecar96/SteamDesktopAuthenticator/issues
  15. Tip 1: Reposition your router. Move it away from walls or other obstructions. Tip 2: Reposition your computer. Connect your laptop or desktop to the router via an Ethernet cable. Tip 3: Enable QoS (Quality of Service). In most modern routers, you can enable QoS, which allows you to prioritize certain devices on your network. This option can be found in your router's settings. Type in your router's IP into your browser's search bar, and login with your username and password. This info is usually provided on the router itself or in the user manual. Tip 4: Use Task Manager. Task Manager allows you to manage CPU usage of certain applications. Click Start or Cortana (Win 10 Only) and type in "Task Manager." Click on it. A window will pop up showing a few tasks. Click on the "More details" button. You will see a list of active tasks. Find "hl2.exe" on the list (you can also click on "CPU" to organize tasks by CPU usage) and right click on it. Click on "Go to details." Right click on "hl2.exe" on the new list that shows up (it should be already highlighted), then hover over "Set task priority." I recommend setting it to "High," but you can also set it to "Realtime" for maximum performance. 18. My brother plays that game. It kinda looks like a Minecraft rip-off to me. I think he has a little trouble typing since he's an alpaca lol
  19. Levels are purely cosmetic, they don't actually add any value. The value of a normal weapon (like the Beggar's Bazooka) is 0.5 Scrap.
