Ink
Scrap.tf now accepts unusuals! This was a gutsy move, but it really helped everyone. It gives people less incentive to dump their unusual taunts with inflated values on others' auctions. This was great, and thank you! To that end, there is another common method to "scam" people on auctions, so-to-speak. People find items with inflated values, purchase them in large quantities, and bid them on auctions. Some items include genuine crown of the old kingdoms, tomb readers, and unique gift wrap. They then sell the items they won and buy way more of the overpriced items and repeat the cycle leading to infinite high-profit deals for them. This is a problem that still plagues the website and we need a fix for it. Right off the top of my head, I think we could just take note of any items that are overstocked and discounted on the scrap.tf bots, and exclude these items from auctions. I'd say that's an accurate way of assessing which items are not worth their backpack.tf values. Or, you could do it on a case-by-case basis, having users report inflated items and having scrap.tf admins manually check them. If somebody could bring this up to someone with authority on the website, it would be highly appreciated. Link to comment
Ink
Also, I guess there is a list of blacklisted items, but why are vintage pyrovision goggles not allowed but crowns of the old kingdom are. Link to comment

Well, Genuine Tomb Readers was a problem a while ago, like a month or 2, eventually their bp.tf price got updated and so did their price in bids. Looks like the same thing happened to Gift Wraps. As for Crown of the Old Kingdom, I seriously have never seen anyone using them to "scam" auctions, and that's coming from someone who spends a lot of time checking auctions. Anyways, guess what I'm trying to say is. They eventually got fixed so like, that problem is gone by now. Link to comment
Ink
They are still overpriced, even if now its by 10 ref instead of 20, and overpriced items are always going to be an issue if no one fixes it. Link to comment
Bazooks
Create a suggestion on backpack.tf Link to comment
Developer purple horse Posted December 1, 2017 Developer Report Share Posted December 1, 2017 We do try to find and block items that have inflated prices and we do ban users that abuse those items in bids. To really fix the problem we need more people to submit price suggestions to backpack.tf for these items. Link to comment
