How do i buy steam gifts so i can trade those in here?

I've been trying to buy a steam game so i can trade it in here but when i try to keep it as a gift steam doesn't give me an option to keep it in my inventory, it instead asks me to give it to one of my friends, i dunno if i'm doing it wrong, but with any kind of help i'll be happy

This is no longer possible. The games that are still being traded were bought as gifts before 2016, as steam introduced the new gifting system then.
