Can escrow kill scrap.tf? and how you use it?

Recommended Posts

I don't know. Maybe. If each person needed mobile verification for each trade that means the scrapbots will too. I think Escrow should be an optional way of trading. The fact that they force you to go on your iphone or android etc. just to confirm a small trade you made is kinda dumb. Well the scrapbots have steamguard off. So the main question is. Will this also apply to people who have steam guard TURNED OFF. If Escrow is only for the people who are steamguard protected then maybe it wont affect most steam users since most of the popular traders don't even have steamguard. However. Turning off steam guard makes you a very easy target. If somebody hacks, hijacks your account. They can get in like a burglar through and open window. Although the chances of that happening are very slim. As long as you don't do things that provoke people to hack you. Or not download any malaware/viruses. Then you don't have anything to worry about. But I still keep steam guard on in case one of those chances occur. So if people like me, a person with steam guard. Has to turn on their mobile device to confirm trades. Then that would just take too long. Finally. I know you don't wanna hear this. But always THINK TWICE . Before making a trade. Think if what you are getting is a good deal or not. If you finally make up your mind then you can cancel the trade (or cancel it via email if you already made the trade) This way you won't get scammed m'kay? So. Will Escrow kill scrap.tf. Yeah maybe. Most random trading sites like scrap.tf and trade.tf might be hard to trade on. I feel like scrap is gonna be the hardest to move on. That means each and every trade the bot makes (that is if escrow applies to people even without steamguard) will have to require them to email confirm it on a mobile device. Which will make people who have to wait in their turn to trade with the bot, even longer. Anyways guys. I'm grape jelly. Trade safe guys! adios.

In all honesty, you are one of the first people who I have seen who have actually looked at some basic facts, looked at the previous way steam helped protect trades, and linked that to what is possibly going to happen. I think that you are correct in your assumptions, because the Escrow will REQUIRE people to link to their phones. Not many people want to go through all that hassle. So, in all honesty, they will probably only have it for those who have steam on their phones, and have them linked to steam on their computer. And it will probably only be if the user has steamguard on. So yes, I honestly think that scrap.tf will be fine if this escrow goes through. I salute you and your observations, you delicious lunchtime treat.
