I was just wondering what is the difference between a key based raffle and a password based raffle???

A key-based one is limited to the keys there are - there's a set number of passwords which the owner of the raffle has and can give out. A password raffle is open to anybody that knows the password. A key-based raffle is better for entering an exclusive raffle that you don't want people to pass on the password to, whereas password raffles are better for puzzle raffles.
