What purpose does waiting a week to use browsers to steam trade have?

Recommended Posts

Seriously, I have not heard of a SINGLE case of someone being hacked because they used their browser to trade over steam, and there's a 4-7 digit code sent to your email which no one else can see, and still you have to put up with this. It does no good, and it just makes it difficult for people who just want to send a trade offer for one item. This means that TF2 Outpost becomes useless because everyone puts "offers only plz" with 0 trade offer links on their profile to show for it (I've only known ONE person who has a link on their profile. He is one of two human beings I have been able to trade with so far, the other being added.), and it just alienates people who have simply gotten bored and hasn't traded in a while. I  guarantee you, if this wait didn't exist, it would be so much better for EVERYONE involved.

It's something that Steam does for everyone's security so later they don't have people whining in steam support that they got their items or steam account stolen because of it/lack of security. There have been many cases of hacking/phishing, but I don't know in how many of them the Steam Guard security measures have saved someone's butt.
