incorrectly categorized items

The "shooting star " sniper rifle appears in the weapons section and can only be sold for 0.5 scrap yet it is a skin from the " Quarantined collection case". Surely if it is from a themed case it should be a skin.

As well as that shouldn't other skins such as the "AWPer hand " be sold in the skins section.

They are weapons that have the "unique" quality. They aren't technically skins, they are "reskins" of existing weapons, meaning they can have similar stats but possess a different weapon model. They belong in the weapons category. If you don't agree with their price for certain reskins, you don't have to sell it to them.

 

All weapons in the weapon bots can also be bought for the same price, so that it's not meant to be a profitable cause, but rather for easier trading.

If that's the case then i shouldn't be able to sell other weapons from the "gun mettle,tough break, invasion" cases as they are all just reskins as well.

The Gun Mettle update introduced "skins", weapons that have the same model as stock weapons but with an exterior finish and wear. Those belong in skin banking because that's what skin banking sells and buys. Those don't belong in the weapon bots as it will make it quite cluttered. The Invasion update did not release any "skins", weapons like the C.A.P.P.E.R. from these cases are reskins that belong in the weapons category, because they don't have the same model as the pistol, nor a specific exterior finish with wear. They also don't come from a case that has only "skins", like the Pyroland case or the Powerhouse case.

ohh, i get it now. so the invasion weapons are more "remodelled" than "reskinned"

Ya, Invasion didn't introduce any skin collections so nothing from there is going to the skin bots
